Application Process

Regardless of the Brisbane university you plan to attend, due to high demand, it is advisable to apply online to The Women’s College as soon as possible, and not wait for your university placement in December/January.

The online application form is a one step process where you can review your application form before you submit. You can save and complete the form later or you can complete it at the same time and submit.

Before you start completing your application, please make sure you have reviewed information about the College, understand the application process, and have to hand all information you need to complete the application form. You will be asked a range of questions including information about your school, background, academic and non academic achievements, your University goals, please take time to consider your approach to these questions.

At the point of submitting your form, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable $150 fee to cover administration costs with reviewing your application and interviewing applicants. This payment is processed via Westpac PayWay and is a secure e-commerce payment gateway. The Women’s College does not ask for or store your credit card details on this website. You will be redirected to pay this application fee. Once the College has received your application and confirmation of the payment processing, the application will move to the next stage.

IMPORTANT: For International Students, offers will not be made until you send The Women’s College the following additional documents: a copy of your offer from a Brisbane university; and acceptance form from the same university.

Please contact The Women’s College Admissions Officer – admissions@womens.uq.edu.au – with any application related questions you may have.

You will be provided with a referee form to forward to your referees to complete the reference check. The referees can email the completed form directly to the College.  The interview process may take place if the references are not provided, but an offer from the College will be conditional on the receipt of appropriate references.

Think of two people you know well to provide a reference for your application into The Women’s College

  • one referee could be an academic referee, for example, a teacher or other education professional who can comment on your studies to date;
  • one referee could be a family friend who has known you for several years or an employer.

Note: It is not appropriate that you ask family members or personal friends to act as referees.

Please email your two referees the Referee Letter and Report and request that they complete the Form and email it directly to the College. Ask your referees to inform you when they have completed the Form so that you are aware that your application process is finalised. There is no need for referees to provide any additional documentation to the College. Finally, please ensure you allow ample time for referees to complete the documentation. Note: If  they intend to post the form back, you should provide them with a stamped envelope.

The Women’s College receives your application immediately once you have submitted it online. The following will then happen on confirmation of application fee paid:

  • Interviews – either in person or online (via Zoom or Microsoft Teams).
  • Receipt of Referee Reports – you will need to advise your nominated referees about this process.
  •  Validation of information, references and any additional information requested from you to finalise the application process.
  •  Conditional or unconditional offers are made.
  •  Acceptance of offer and residency deposit paid.
  •  Residency preparation process initiated.
