Application Process

Due to high demand, it is advisable to apply online to The Women’s College as soon as possible. It is not necessary to wait until December/January for your confirmed university placement.

Before you start your application, please make sure you have:

  • Reviewed information about the College and application options (Resident or Associate) on the Why Women’s? page.
  • Read all the following information on this page, which will help you to understand the application process.
  • Have to hand all information you need to complete the application form.

Before submitting an application please check that you meet the following criteria:

  • A student who is a resident of The Women’s College must be enrolled in a full-time degree course at one of the following Brisbane universities: The University of Queensland (UQ), Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Griffith University or Australian Catholic University (ACU). The College considers full-time study to be the equivalent of four subjects.
  • As a student, you must participate in your university course in a predominantly face-to-face mode.

The Women’s College offers residential contracts for the full academic year not on a semester basis.

We use a range of criteria to determine the order of offers for placement including:

  • Academic merit
  • Community engagement
  • Cultural achievements
  • Sporting achievements
  • Suitability to College life and potential to maximise the opportunity
  • Historical and family connection to College
  • Home location (priority to rural and regional areas)

At the point of submitting your online Application Form, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable $150 fee to cover administration costs with reviewing your application and interviewing applicants. This payment is processed via Westpac PayWay and is a secure e-commerce payment gateway. The Women’s College does not ask for or store your credit card details on this website. You will be redirected to pay this application fee. Once the College has received your application and confirmation of the payment processing, your application will move to the next stage.

2025 Applications

  • Residency: Applications are open. Places will be offered in rounds with the next round scheduled for Thursday 17 October.
  • Associate Membership: Applications are open. Places will be offered in rounds with the first round scheduled for Wednesday 16 October.
