110th Anniversary Reception at Government House

Tuesday 27 February 2024 marked the official start of The Women’s College 110th Anniversary celebrations, with an event hosted by the Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, alongside Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD, at Government House.

Among the attendees were 70 distinguished guests, including esteemed members of the College’s alumnae community. The Governor, in her address, highlighted the profound impact of The Women’s College in empowering young women, especially those from rural and regional Queensland, throughout its illustrious journey as a university residential college since 1914.
