2023 Community Formal Dinner

Our 2023 Community Formal Dinner was a fabulous celebration of our Woozas’ achievements in the community space. Held on Thursday 7 September, this event acknowledged the achievements of everyone who has raised awareness and funds for various organisations and charities throughout the 2023 academic year.

The event began with a special musical performance by Second-Year Resident Madison Kane, who sang Start Again by Conrad Sewell. Our Woozas then enjoyed the address by guest speaker Leigh McCready (alumna 1995 – 1997), who was our 2023 Community Alumna Award Winner. Leigh is a Business Leader and Professional Volunteer within the Sunshine Coast community.

Millie Power, our 2023 Sponsorship & Fundraising Convenor, then delivered her address where she thanked Woozas and The Women’s College community for their efforts in the community space. Millie then announced the recipients of the 2023 Community Service Award Winners, who were:

• First Year Award: Mackenzie Shepley
• Second Year Award: Madeleine Warner
• Initiative Award: Sarah-Jane Kiernan
• Environmental Award: Katie Humphreys and Chelsea Moor
